Frequently Asked Questions
This is our first family portrait. How does it work?
First we set a date and choose a location. I can come to you or we can meet at a location of your choosing. You organize your family (I can help with clothing suggestions) and we meet for our session. During the session I will have everyone doing something fun in order to get real expressions. I often have kids jumping and running (I am very fast and they NEVER catch me!) After the session, I will post the images to my blog, Instagram, Facebook and a proofing site from which you can order prints and products.Do you have a list of locations we can choose from?
Yes! I have written blog posts about my favorite spots and I love discovering new locations so my list is always growing. Currently it includes Borderland State Park, Governor Oliver Ames Estate, The Cranberry Bogs at Patriots Place, The Knob in Falmouth and more. Check out the posts here.

Can my pet be in the photos?
ABSOLUTELY! I love animals and have photographed families with dogs, cats rabbits, and rats.

How much experience do you have?
I began my photography business in 1998. In that time I have photographed countless families. I feel a little like the keeper of the visual history for my clients.

Do you shoot film or digital?
Digital. My primary camera is a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. I always have a backup camera, batteries, lenses, and flashes.

How long will the session take?
I offer ten minute sessions, twenty-five minute sessions and seventy-five minute sessions. See the pricing page for details.

Wedding FAQ (see above for portrait FAQ)
Frequently Asked Questions
Will you be the photographer at our wedding?
Yes! I am always the photographer at weddings. I do not subcontract my weddings to any other photographers.Do you bring a second photographer?
Most packages include a second photographer – ideal for events with 100 guests or more.

How would you describe your photographic style?
My style is a mix of photojournalism and classic artistic style. I want your wedding images to be a natural, honest vision of the emotion and energy that was felt on your day, so I take each moment in stride and keep my lens on you at all times. I also want you to have fun! During the portrait part of the day I will either direct you or just let you play and be yourselves. Whatever looks best and feels right works. If you are having fun and feeling good it will come through in the pictures.
